About the author

Kuvvet Atakan is a Professor Emeritus of Seismology with 45 years of experience in Earth Sciences. He has authored over 100 scholarly publications and played a key role in numerous international scientific projects. His contributions have been instrumental in developing a large-scale research infrastructure in Europe, where he has led the Norwegian national research node for many years.

In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Atakan has served in various administrative positions and was Vice-Rector at the University of Bergen, Norway. In 2010, he was recognized as one of Norway’s Top 10 international leaders. His extensive experience and deep understanding of complex systems have greatly influenced the writing of this book on Balancism.
